Dazzlingly Beautiful II is one of the representative works from my Dazzlingly Beautiful solo exhibition, held at Eun Gallery in Insadong, Seoul, in 2024. The painting captures a fleeting moment when blossoms radiate with extraordinary brilliance, transforming a familiar scene into an intimate emotional experience. Rather than depicting flowers as botanical subjects, I sought to preserve the feeling of encountering beauty at its most luminous. Suspended against a deep crimson background, the blossoms seem to float beyond time and space, inviting viewers to contemplate the quiet intensity of a single moment in bloom. Created with oil paint and UV-reactive pigments, the work unfolds through two interconnected visual layers. Under ordinary illumination, the refined composition, vibrant colors, and delicate details celebrate the vitality of nature. Under ultraviolet light, another hidden image gradually emerges, revealing an invisible narrative that exists alongside the visible one. These two realities complete a single pictorial experience, expanding the boundaries of perception through light. As one of the defining works of my early representational flower series, Dazzlingly Beautiful II reflects my exploration of beauty, light, and unseen dimensions. The work represents an important stage in the development of my UV-reactive figurative painting, laying the foundation for the artistic direction that would later evolve into my broader investigations of memory and invisible realities.
