I See You Ⅴ is one of the representative works of Jennifer Lee’s I See You and Crystal Flower series and was officially exhibited at the 61st Venice Biennale, National Pavilion of Tanzania. The work explores the boundary between what can be seen and what remains beyond ordinary perception, transforming the image of a flower into a luminous structure composed of fragmented color, light, and memory. Dominated by intense pink, the flower expands across the canvas through layered petals, intricate lines, and fractured patterns. Rather than presenting a flower as a fixed botanical form, the painting reconstructs it as a shifting visual presence. Its delicate structure appears to dissolve and reassemble, suggesting fragments of memory and unconscious emotion emerging into visibility. Created with oil paint and UV-reactive pigments, the work contains another visual dimension that becomes perceptible under changing illumination. Color and form respond to different wavelengths of light, reflecting the artist’s continuing interest in realities that exist beyond the limits of ordinary human vision. I See You Ⅴ embodies Jennifer Lee’s belief that everything that exists leaves a trace. Here, the flower becomes a vessel through which invisible memories and emotions are temporarily revealed, connecting the perceptual investigations of the I See You series with the crystalline visual language that continues to develop throughout her Crystal Flower series.
[I See You V] You exist beyond the boundaries of what I can see, in the place where fragments of the unconscious quietly gather. Unfolding like a soft whisper, you scatter traces of color into brilliance, holding within them the fragile impermanence of being. Your delicate form lies hidden within the wavelengths of light, resting there, not yet awakened. And still, I wander in search of those traces. Until at last, I see you.
