Frozen Time III continues my exploration of the optical properties of crystalline structures through the language of painting. Rather than treating crystal as a decorative motif, I approached it as a medium through which light is reflected, refracted, scattered, and momentarily suspended, transforming the perception of both space and time. Instead of representing the crystal itself, I focused on the constantly shifting patterns of light created within its geometric structure. Fragmented reflections, layered transparency, and subtle distortions dissolve the boundary between reality and abstraction, inviting viewers to experience a moment in which time appears to stand still within light. Created with oil paint and UV-reactive pigments, the painting unfolds through two interconnected visual layers. Under ordinary illumination, crystalline forms and luminous blues create a cool, transparent atmosphere where light continuously changes as it moves across the surface. Under ultraviolet light, another hidden image gradually emerges, revealing an invisible dimension that coexists with the visible one. These two realities extend the experience of the painting beyond ordinary perception. Frozen Time III represents an important stage in my continuing investigation into the visual language of crystal and light. Through the interaction of reflection, refraction, transparency, and the perception of suspended time, the work deepened my understanding of crystalline optics. These explorations later became one of the conceptual and visual foundations of my Crystal Flower series, where crystal is no longer simply an object but a metaphor for memory, light, and the invisible dimensions of existence.
