Dazzlingly Beautiful… is one of the representative works from my solo exhibition Dazzlingly Beautiful, held at Eun Gallery in Insadong, Seoul, in 2024. The painting celebrates the radiant vitality of blossoms at the height of their bloom, capturing a fleeting moment when nature appears to overflow with light and life. Rather than portraying flowers as botanical subjects, I sought to express the emotional resonance of encountering beauty in its fullest presence. The densely intertwined blossoms fill the composition, dissolving the boundary between the viewer and the subject, and transforming a familiar scene into an immersive experience. Created with oil paint and UV-reactive pigments, the work unfolds through two interconnected visual layers. Under ordinary illumination, luminous colors, refined realism, and carefully balanced composition reveal the richness of the blossoms. Under ultraviolet light, another hidden image gradually emerges, revealing an invisible narrative that coexists with the visible one. These two realities are not separate works but complementary dimensions of a single painting. As one of the defining works of my Dazzlingly Beautiful series, Dazzlingly Beautiful I reflects my continuing exploration of light as an artistic language. The work represents an important stage in my development of UV-reactive figurative painting, where visible beauty and unseen dimensions are brought together within a single pictorial experience.
